TOSHIBA ANNOUNCES NB550D WITH AMD ONTARIO PROCESSOR

AMD is all set to launch its Fusion line of processors which include the low power Ontario and Zacate chips. The Fusion processors are AMD's answer to Intel's Atom. They are quite power efficient and deliver significantly better performance than the Atom processors. Needless to say Justify Fullwe will see lots of laptops sporting the brand new AMD chips at CES.

But Toshiba it looks like is in no mood to wait. Toshiba's German division has published a product page for a new laptop called the Toshiba NB550D. It has a 1GHz dual core AMD C50 (Ontario) processor. The Toshiba NB550D has a 10.1 inch display. Other specifications include AMD Radeon HD 6250M graphics, HDMI output, a 6-cell battery, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 1GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.

Toshiba claims that the battery will get around 9.5 hours of battery life. The laptop runs Windows 7 Home Premium. It will be available in green, orange or brown.
