MSI hasn't had any major product release in 2010. The company did launch a few minor revisions of its existing netbook and laptop lineup, but that's all we heard from them in the last 12 months or so. But things are going to get exciting again. MSI is preparing to launch an 11.6 inch laptop called U270 with AMD's new Zacate processor in 2011.
The AMD Zacate processor has a low power processor core and high performance graphics. It is capable of handling HD video, 3D gaming and other tasks that only a discrete GPU can handle.
The MSI U270 has an 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Zacate processor which consumes 18W or less of power. Other specifications include a 500GB hard drive, up to 4GB of RAM, 1 USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, VGA, HDMI output and an SD card reader. MSI is expected to show off the laptop at CES in January.
