BlackBerry announced the launch of its first slider handset � Torch 9800. It is the first device of BlackBerry running on the BlackBerry OS 6. It is the next big thing in the corporate world.
Blackberry Torch comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and a 3.2" HVGA+ display. It is a tri-band 3G handset. It is packed with Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. It offers an excellent all-round connectivity.
Blackberry Torch 9800 is featured with 5 megapixel autofocus camera. It is capable of recording videos up to VGA resolution. The phone has 512 MB of operating memory on board. It has 4GB storage capacity while it supports upto 32GB expandable memory through the microSD card slot.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 will be available exclusively (at least in the US) to AT&T customers, starting from 12 August. It will be priced at a cent short of 200 bucks after a two-year contract.
On the other hand, RIM also brought some good news for the owners of some of their older handsets. The BlackBerry Bold 9700, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and the BlackBerry Pearl 3G will all get BlackBerry OS 6 updates.
